EU AI Act overview
The EU AI Act is the world's first comprehensive AI regulation. For companies using AI systems in the workplace, it creates clear obligations around transparency, logging, and human oversight.
Who it applies to
Any organisation deploying AI systems within the EU, regardless of where the AI provider is based. If your employees use AI tools at work, you have obligations.
Risk-based classification
AI systems are classified by risk level. Enterprise knowledge systems like Nordvec fall under the general-purpose category with specific transparency and documentation requirements.
Non-compliance penalties
Fines up to 35 million EUR or 7% of global annual turnover, whichever is higher. The regulation applies from August 2, 2026.
