External assistants

These open a third-party AI service outside the EU. The link passes it this page's address, and anything you ask there is processed by that provider under its own terms.

Imports OneDrive files, Outlook mail with attachments, SharePoint document libraries, OneNote pages and Teams channel posts.

What it imports

Nordvec imports these from Microsoft: files, email threads, attachments, notebook pages, channel posts, and replies.

Microsoft imports when you start a sync from Connectors; it does not run on a schedule yet. A document deleted in Microsoft is removed at the next sync.

Filtering searches by Microsoft

Documents synced from Microsoft carry these source_provider values. Pass one to /documents/search to restrict results to this connector:

  • microsoft
  • outlook
  • onedrive
  • sharepoint
  • microsoft_onenote
  • microsoft_teams
curl https://nordvec.com/api/v1/documents/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NORDVEC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "quarterly report", "sourceProvider": "microsoft"}'

Connecting Microsoft

Connect Microsoft from Connectors in Nordvec. The connector reads with the account of the person who connects it. Documents from Microsoft are private to the person who connected it until that person shares them. An API key reads only what is shared with the workspace, so it finds these documents once their owner shares them. Documents are stored in the EU; every processor that touches them is published with its jurisdiction and transfer basis at /subprocessors.

Microsoft is treated as a privacy-sensitive personal source. Query text against it is never collected for product analytics, protecting sensitive personal content.
