# Slack
Source: https://nordvec.com/docs/guides/connectors/slack

Connect Slack to Nordvec: what it imports, how to filter searches by it, and how to connect. Communication.

Imports messages, thread replies and shared files from the public Slack channels you have joined.

## What it imports [#what-it-imports]

Nordvec imports these from Slack: messages, thread replies, and shared files.

Nordvec checks Slack for changes on a schedule, and a document deleted in Slack is removed at the next check.

## Filtering searches by Slack [#filtering-searches-by-slack]

Documents synced from Slack carry these `source_provider` values. Pass one to
[`/documents/search`](/docs/guides/how-to/filter-search) to restrict results to
this connector:

- `slack`

```bash
curl https://nordvec.com/api/v1/documents/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NORDVEC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "quarterly report", "sourceProvider": "slack"}'
```

## Connecting Slack [#connecting-slack]

Connect Slack from **Connectors** in Nordvec. The connector reads with the account of the person who connects it.
Documents from Slack are private to the person who connected it until that person shares them.
An API key reads only what is shared with the workspace, so it finds these
documents once their owner shares them.
Documents are stored in the EU; every processor that touches them is published
with its jurisdiction and transfer basis at [/subprocessors](/subprocessors).
