# GitHub
Source: https://nordvec.com/docs/guides/connectors/github

Connect GitHub to Nordvec: what it imports, how to filter searches by it, and how to connect. Developer tools.

Imports issues, pull requests with their comments and reviews, releases and Markdown documentation from your GitHub repositories.

## What it imports [#what-it-imports]

Nordvec imports these from GitHub: issues, pull requests, comments, code reviews, release notes, README and Markdown files, and attachments.

Nordvec checks GitHub for changes on a schedule, and a document deleted in GitHub is removed at the next check.

## Filtering searches by GitHub [#filtering-searches-by-github]

Documents synced from GitHub carry these `source_provider` values. Pass one to
[`/documents/search`](/docs/guides/how-to/filter-search) to restrict results to
this connector:

- `github`

```bash
curl https://nordvec.com/api/v1/documents/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NORDVEC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "quarterly report", "sourceProvider": "github"}'
```

## Connecting GitHub [#connecting-github]

Connect GitHub from **Connectors** in Nordvec. The connector reads with the account of the person who connects it.
Documents from GitHub are private to the person who connected it until that person shares them.
An API key reads only what is shared with the workspace, so it finds these
documents once their owner shares them.
Documents are stored in the EU; every processor that touches them is published
with its jurisdiction and transfer basis at [/subprocessors](/subprocessors).
